Sewn Outfit Of The Day

I get two, three day weekends per month from my job. I have other off days also, but the long weekends are my favorite. I refer to these as my "creative weekend". I will definitely sew and cook something wonderful during, "creative weekend". There is usually a trip to Hobby Lobby, Joann Fabrics, Hancock Fabrics and also various thrifting venues. Great creative treasure can be found at a yard sale or flea markets.

My husband and I were out Saturday morning when I spied a roadside yard sale with 2 sewing machines in plain view. My husband heard me gasp and he pulled over immediately. He knows well my sewing madness, as well the fact that I have 4 sewing machines already.

Upon inspection I found one older metal Janome sewing machine that I was going to purchase until I was informed that there was no cord or foot pedal. The price was cheap but I am too lazy to hunt around on the web in hopes of finding the right plug and pedal, plus I certainly didn't know if it worked at all. I had to leave it behind, but still I wonder.

I sewed most of Saturday night and did my first Periscope broadcast. That was kinda fun.
I worked on the red faux suede jacket. A major fit issue occurred, The shoulders look like crap.
I mean huge misshaped, linebacker shoulders. I have to rip and fix this mess, so I finished the lining
and pockets and went to bed. I will start the repair after I finishing this post.

I thought you might like to see something I made previously and enjoy wearing. I made this a few years ago and wrote about on my old blog . Here is the sweater jacket worn today.
